The three stretches carry almost exactly the same traffic, within about 1,000 vehicles a day. The difference is in the mix: about one vehicle in eight between Banbury and Gaydon is a lorry, 11,036 a day, the most on the M40.
The Department for Transport lists four count points between Junctions 11 and 12. Three share 89,483 and one records 85,425; we show the busier.
Junctions close together
Junctions 13 and 14 both reach Leamington Spa and Warwick on the A452, and the count point between them covers 2.7 kilometres. They are not interchangeable, though: heading north you can leave only at Junction 13, and heading south only at Junction 14. Check the reports above for slip-road closures on the one you need.
